Initially influenced by the aesthetic of dilapidated East end buildings, Andy Rudak began to imagine these as scaled down models made entirely from cardboard. He wanted to combine this idea with the surreal, dream-like feel that runs throughout his personal work.
About the Artist:
Andy Rudak first set out on the path of photography at the Age of 18, when he attended college to grasp a greater understanding of photography and filmmaking. After specialising in photography he went on to study at Blackpool College of Art where he became obsessed with lighting techniques. Moving to London at the age of 23 Andy began assisting photographers and building up his own portfolio. Eventually setting up his own studio in East London, he has now shot for many top agencies and clients. One of Andys main loves has always been shooting his own personal work, these projects help keep his creative drive and also help showcase his abilities.

A “castell” is a human tower built traditionally in festivals at many locations in Catalonia, Spain. At these festivals, several “colles” or teams build and dismantle a human tower’s structure. For its success, a crowded and stunning base of dozens of people needs to be previously perfectly set up. Therefore, the space in between of “castells” becomes almost an utopia.
For more than 200 years “castells” have become one of the most important cultural traditions in Catalonia. On 2010, “castells” were declared by UNESCO to be amongst the Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity.
About the Artist:
David Oliete is a freelance photographer born in 1986 in Tarragona, Spain. After living in Cardiff and Barcelona he came back to his hometown from where he currently works on mainly social and documentary projects, trying to transmit emotions through people’s daily life. He has been involved in many documentary photography and video projects in countries such as Nepal, Korea, Morocco, Tunisia, Sweden, Italy or Spain. His work has been published in some local and national media and exhibited in festivals such as the Photojournalism Photon Festival in Valencia, the International SCAN Photography Festival in Tarragona, or the Seoul International Short Film Festival “SESIFF”, in Kore
